MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To attend to emergency calls, provide medical care in line with scope of practice and provide access rescue services.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION : ILS qualification

DESIRED EDUCATION: Advanced Certificate in Rescue. Successful completion of training related to Clinical Practice Guidelines published by the Health Professions Council of South Africa will be advantageous. If not compliant with the clinical practice guidelines at the time of application you will be required to complete this training during your probation period if successful in your application. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 3 years ILS experience, Verifiable rescue experience

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 5 year ILS experience

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Ensure operational readiness for emergency calls

Provide basic access rescue

Administer patient care in line with scope of practice

Provide professional emergency services to clients and relationship maintenance

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Client rules and regulations
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
  • EMS and Rescue environment
  • Facilities, travel routes and demographical area
  • Hazmat awareness
  • HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice
  • Patient Report Forms
  • Proficiency in the English language (written and verbal)
  • Relevant legislative regulations
