MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Scrum Master - Automation is responsible for leading the planning, prioritisation, delivery and continuous optimisation of Intelligent Automation and Artificial Intelligence initiatives across the organisation. The role combines Product Management and Delivery Management responsibilities to ensure automation solutions deliver measurable business value and support organisational objectives. The incumbent owns and manages the automation product backlog, facilitates Agile delivery practices, drives stakeholder engagement, governs project execution, monitors benefits realisation, and ensures automation initiatives achieve expected operational, financial and strategic outcomes while supporting innovation, continuous improvement and digital transformation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Automation Product Strategy, Roadmap & Backlog Management

  • Develop and maintain the Intelligent Automation product roadmap aligned to organisational priorities.
  • Own, prioritise and continuously refine the automation product backlog
  • Evaluate automation opportunities using business value, complexity and strategic alignment
  • Define business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate requirements and prioritise initiatives
  • Ensure product decisions support business strategy and maximise value realisation

Automation Delivery & Agile Governance

  • Lead the delivery of automation and AI initiatives across the organisation 
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews and retrospectives 
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams and external vendors 
  • Monitor delivery schedules, budgets, risks and dependencies 
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards and project methodologies 
  • Drive continuous improvement of delivery practices 

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Enablement

  • Develop strong relationships with business leaders and operational stakeholders 
  • Identify new automation opportunities through business engagement 
  • Facilitate workshops to define business requirements and future-state processes 
  • Support organisational change management and user adoption 
  • Promote awareness of automation capabilities and AI opportunities 
  • Ensure effective communication throughout project lifecycles 

Automation Performance, Benefits Realisation & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain automation performance dashboards 
  • Measure operational, financial and strategic benefits against approved business cases 
  • Monitor automation utilisation and AI adoption 
  • Track portfolio KPIs and recommend corrective actions where required 
  • Produce executive reports on delivery, value realisation and portfolio performance 
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities through performance analytics 

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology or related discipline

DESIRED EDUCATION 

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Technology Management
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, PSPO, CSPO, Lean Six Sigma or SAFe are advantageous 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • 5-7 years’ experience in Product Management, Project Management or Digital Transformation
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise automation and AI initiatives
  • Experience managing product backlogs, Agile delivery methodologies and cross-functional delivery teams
  • Experience delivering business process automation, workflow optimisation and digital transformation programmes
  • Experience developing business cases, benefits realisation plans and executive reporting  

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience within a hospital or healthcare environment
  • Exposure to Intelligent Automation technologies including RPA, AI, Machine Learning and Process Mining
  • Experience working within complex multi-site organisations
