MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Hospital Liaison Officer (HLO) serves as the primary point of contact between healthcare facilities and the Medical Operations Command (MOC), ensuring effective communication, coordination and preparedness during emergencies, daily incidents and Special Patient Pathways (SPPs). The role monitors hospital resources and readiness, supports incident response and helps ensure patient safety, resource availability and continuity of care during emergencies and major incidents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Coordinate timely communication between healthcare facilities and the Medical Operations Command during daily emergencies, major incidents and mass casualty events.
- Monitor healthcare facility emergency preparedness, resource availability and surge capacity, and support the maintenance of hospital preparedness and surge plans.
- Support the implementation and improvement of Special Patient Pathways, including pathways for STEMI, burns and stroke.
- Support incident and disaster response by providing real-time hospital capacity information and coordinating healthcare facility readiness.
- Maintain accurate and timely emergency activity records in the Estijabah system and prepare required incident, preparedness and SPP reports.
- Ensure documentation and reporting comply with applicable MOC guidelines, SOPs and audit requirements.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with healthcare facilities, emergency services and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the SPP Task Force and relevant stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Medical/clinical qualification and/or Emergency Coordinator background. No professional registration is specified as required in the Job Profile.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, with experience in an Emergency Department or Emergency Planning environment. No separate desired experience requirement is specified in the Job Profile.
