MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The role is responsible to maintain all laboratory equipment in great status for operational use. This entails conducting all required maintenance activities. Will also conduct standard laboratory procedures under the supervision of technologists.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Conducting under the supervision of senior technologists analysis of specimens to determine presence of normal and abnormal components

Ensuring data capture of lab results onto computer systems

Operating, calibrates and maintains lab equipment

Providing results to physicians as per defined SOP

Evaluating collected laboratory data and prepare reports as per protocol

Ensuring that SOP (standard operation procedures) and Quality Assurance tests are maintained within all sections

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited course resulting in being awarded a diploma or certificate as a Laboratory Technician from an accredited program or equivalent of NLT 2 years duration.

Valid Basic Life Support Certificate

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

At least two years in own country

Desired: Two years in an acute care hospital

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Infection prevention and control protocols
  • Patient safety regulations and related accreditation standards
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic will be an advantage)
