MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Senior Manager Commercial Research establishes and leads the commercialisation of clinical research across the organisation, complementing the existing clinical/academic research department. The role helps build the strategy, sponsor pipeline, operational infrastructure, and governance required to attract, contract, and deliver industry-sponsored clinical trials, real-world evidence (RWE) studies, and other commercial research and data partnerships, leveraging MCME's scale and single electronic health record. The role is accountable for growing research revenue while safeguarding scientific integrity, ethical conduct, patient safety, and compliance with UAE regulatory requirements.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

1

Develop and implement the commercial research strategy and sponsor/CRO business development pipeline.

Establish and manage commercial research operations, including feasibility, contracting, budgeting, and study start-up.

Develop the real-world evidence (RWE) and health-data partnership offering.

4

Manage the financial performance of the commercial research portfolio.

5

Ensure governance, regulatory compliance, and investigator and stakeholder engagement.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in medicine, pharmacy, nursing, life sciences, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

DESIRED EDUCATION

Postgraduate qualification (Master's, PhD, or MBA) in a relevant field; professional clinical research certification (e.g. ACRP or SOCRA).

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

8–10 years in clinical research, including at least 5 years in industry-sponsored clinical trials within a CRO, pharmaceutical or medical device sponsor, site management organisation, or provider-based commercial research office. Demonstrable experience of sponsor-facing business development, study feasibility, and contract and budget negotiation.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

10+ years, including experience establishing or scaling a commercial research function within a healthcare provider; real-world evidence (RWE) study delivery and health-data partnerships; experience in the UAE or wider GCC and familiarity with DoH, DHA and MOHAP/EDE research requirements.
