MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Clinical Facilitator plans and facilitates identified training and development interventions to ensure competency of all staff. They can be allocated to a specialist unit (e.g. the ICU) or work across the nursing units of a hospital.
To support a comprehensive, professional and integrated care expert service to patients in collaboration with the internal internal and external healthcare teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Develop the competence of all nursing staff.
- Ensure the correct application of nursing procedures and policies.
- Identify training needs to guide the development of appropriate clinical training interventions.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development.
- Drive patient clinical efficiency in collaboration with the Clinica and Nursing team prior to admission, during hospitalisation and post discharge.
- Support an integrated healthcare service by liasing and coordinating services with clinician offices and external healthcare providers.
- Fullfil a patient lisison role throughout the delivery of the Care Expert product.
- Ensure effective communication and empowerment around value based care within the units.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
Professional Nurse qualification, and Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education OR 3 years experience as a mentor, and
Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing if a Clinical Facilitator in a specialist unit (e.g. Perioperative Nursing) and a certificate of competence in Generic Assessment (Assessor course)
Theatre - , ICU- , IPC - or Coding qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
3 years of Professional Nurse experience in a hospital
1 year of mentor experience
