MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To ensure compliance with Pharmacy practice standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Provide specialist support to hospital pharmacies
  • To manage and mitigate functional risks
  • Coordinate training for Pharmacy support personnel

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

  • BPharm or equivalent

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • 5 Years working in a private hospital pharmacy environment in a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager capacity with in-depth knowledge of current legislation related to Pharmacy

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant Pharmacy legislation, coordination of training programmes for Pharmacy support personnel, Project coordination, and Good Pharmacy Practice

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Pharmacy-related processes and procedures
  • Understanding of the Pharmacist, Pharmacist Intern and Pharmacy Support Personnel scope of practice
  • Structure and compilation of pharmacy standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
  • Pharmacy relevant statutory requirements and regulations
  • Cost containment initiatives (e.g. CPE, ARM’s) Medical aid rules
  • Systems (AS400, Medi.Data, Retail system, Webi)
